While searching for editions of She by H. Rider Haggard, I discovered that the Non-Classics division of Penguin Books has begun publishing a line of Red Classics. One might argue that the Red Classics are not classics, or that the Non-Classics division publishes classics after all; but, really, something here ought to give way.

During today's constitutional, I'll be creating the architectural document for a screen play (viz. movie script) for a re-make of H. Rider Haggard's She, featuring Scarlett Johansson.

I'm aware that She has non-occidental features, so between the two choices:

    a) Maintaining complete fidelity to the original story, and changing the appearance of She who must be CGI'ed, or

    b) Loosening a little bit of fidelity, but not requiring much of a change of appearance to the main characters,

I'll leaning towards option "b". Regression analysis revealed that a screen play is the optimal path towards the original intentions of the Great American Novel. I'm still not sure if the actual implementation of the production of the script shall be performed offshore.

Ayesha is an Arab princess with black hair and nearly black eyes. The proper way to put her on the Big Screen is to find an astonishingly beautiful Semitic woman, and then use CGI to tweak her appearance to a sort of perfection. This is very different from hiring a blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman of Danish and Polish descent and frying a room-full of system boards or outraging Daniel.
