Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x should <em>not<\/em> run the setup routine.  Instead<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n  <li>Uninstall any existing installation.  If you have <code>yum<\/code>, then as root run <blockquote style=\"width: 100%; overflow: auto;\"><code>yum remove openoffice.org-*<\/code><\/blockquote> If you must or would rather use <code>rpm<\/code> then use the command <blockquote style=\"width: 91% ; overflow: auto ; white-space: nowrap ;\"><code>rpm -qa | grep openoffice | xargs rpm -e --nodeps<\/code><\/blockquote><\/li>\r\n  <li>Unpack <a href=\"http:\/\/openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org\/?product=OpenOffice.org&amp;os=linuxintelwjre&amp;lang=en-US&amp;version=2.4.0\">OOo_2.4.0_LinuxIntel_install_wJRE_en-US.tar.gz<\/a> (or <a href=\"http:\/\/download.openoffice.org\/other.html\">the version appropriate to a devil-language<\/a>, if you use one of those) to your filespace.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Go into resulting OOH680_m12_native_packed-1_en-US.<var>xxxx<\/var>\/<strong>RPMS<\/strong>\/ (or to the OOH680_m12_native_packed-1_<var>xx<\/var>-<var>xx<\/var>.<var>xxxx<\/var>\/<strong>RPMS<\/strong>\/ corresponding to your devil-tongue).<\/li>\r\n  <li>As root, if you don't have a more recent version of a <abbr title=\"Java Run-time Environment\">JRE<\/abbr> than 6u4, then run <blockquote style=\"width: 100%; overflow: auto;\"><code>rpm -U *.rpm<\/code><code><\/code><\/blockquote> otherwise run <blockquote style=\"width: 91% ; overflow: auto ; white-space: nowrap ;\"><code>rpm -U openoffice*.rpm<\/code><\/blockquote><\/li>\r\n  <li>As root, run <blockquote style=\"width: 91% ; overflow: auto ; white-space: nowrap ;\"><code>rpm -U desktop-integration\/openoffice.org-redhat-menus-2.4-*.noarch.rpm<\/code><\/blockquote>\r\n(<span style=\"font-style: bolder ;\"><abbr title=\"nota bene\">NB<\/abbr>:<\/span> You will need to log-out and back-in for the Applications menu to be up-dated and list the OpenOffice components.)<\/li>\r\n  <li>Go to the directory in which libvclplug_gen680li.so.1.1 is found:\r\n<blockquote style=\"width: 91% ; overflow: auto ; white-space: nowrap ;\"><code>cd \/opt\/openoffice.org2.4\/program<\/code><\/blockquote>\r\n<\/li>\r\n  <li>As root, enter the following to get <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsa.gov\/selinux\/\"><abbr title=\"Security-Enhanced\">SE<\/abbr>Linux<\/a> to accept the interface:\r\n<blockquote style=\"width: 91% ; overflow: auto ; white-space: nowrap ;\"><code><a href=\"http:\/\/www.linuxcommand.org\/man_pages\/chcon1.html\">chcon<\/a> -t textrel_shlib_t libvclplug_gen680li.so.1.1<\/code><\/blockquote>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>If you did <em>not<\/em> install the <abbr title=\"Java Run-time Environment\">JRE<\/abbr> above, then <ul><li>Launch OpenOffice. <blockquote style=\"width: 91% ; overflow: auto ; white-space: nowrap ;\"><code>\/usr\/bin\/openoffice.org2.4<\/code><\/blockquote> (It will not be listed on the applications menu unless you have logged-out and back-in.)<\/li><li>Select <blockquote>Tools |&nbsp;Options&#8230; |&nbsp;OpenOffice.org |&nbsp;Java |&nbsp;Use&nbsp;a&nbsp;Java&nbsp;runtime&nbsp;environment<\/blockquote><\/li><li>Choose one of the environments that is then listed.<\/li><li>Click the <q>OK<\/q> button.<\/li><li>Shut-down OpenOffice.
