{"id":86,"date":"2008-04-06T20:16:51","date_gmt":"2008-04-07T04:16:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oeconomist.com\/blogs\/daniel\/?p=86"},"modified":"2009-09-23T18:13:32","modified_gmt":"2009-09-24T02:13:32","slug":"endorsements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oeconomist.com\/blogs\/daniel\/?p=86","title":{"rendered":"Endorsements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I see that <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/nm\/20080406\/us_nm\/greenspan_recession_dc_2\">Alan Greenspan has endorsed McCain.<\/a>  <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/washwire\/2008\/01\/31\/volcker-joins-list-of-obama-backers\/\">Back in January, Volcker endorsed Obama.<\/a>  This leaves no Fed Chairmen to endorse anyone else, as the present Chairman is supposed to stay out of it, and the other guys are dead.<\/p> <p>Nobody much cares, but <em>I<\/em> am not endorsing anyone.  I'm especially not endorsing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/bA2LgJviH9w&amp\">Mike Gravel<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gravel2008.us\/content\/personal-message-mike\">who has joined the Libertarian Party and is seeking its nomination<\/a>, nor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lp.org\/\">the Libertarian Party<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lp.org\/media\/article_573.shtml\">who have <em>welcomed<\/em> him<\/a>.  Mike Gravel has made plain <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gravel2008.us\/issues\">where he stands on the issues<\/a>, and it's plain that he's not a Libertarian.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"I see that Alan Greenspan has endorsed McCain.
