{"id":1569,"date":"2009-04-10T16:05:28","date_gmt":"2009-04-11T00:05:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oeconomist.com\/blogs\/daniel\/?p=1569"},"modified":"2009-06-13T01:28:24","modified_gmt":"2009-06-13T09:28:24","slug":"revision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oeconomist.com\/blogs\/daniel\/?p=1569","title":{"rendered":"Revision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After he read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.praxiologic.com\/economics\/papers\/CoinFlip.pdf\">my paper<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/bbl.ucsd.edu\/doku.php?id=main:faculty:acgamst\">Anthony<\/a> told me something that I already knew &mdash; that the Discussion section was <q>brief<\/q>, and the Conclusion <q>sudden<\/q>.  I had been both sick of working on the paper, and having trouble thinking about it in natural language.  So those parts were&#8230; lacking.  <a href=\"http:\/\/bbl.ucsd.edu\/doku.php?id=main:faculty:acgamst\">Anthony<\/a>'s gentle remarks increased my sense that they were inadequate.<\/p><p>I have expanded and re&ouml;rganized the Discussion section (cannibalizing part of the Conclusion), and added to the <q>Future Work<\/q> section between it and the Conclusion.  In that context, the Conclusion should seem less sudden, and I have added some thoughts to it (as well as having taken one from it).<\/p><p><a href=\"http:\/\/bbl.ucsd.edu\/doku.php?id=main:faculty:acgamst\">Anthony<\/a> also suggested that the paper could be made more accessible by discussion of the historical background of the problem, and of real-world examples.
