I didn't and don't know the current location of <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20090122091300\/http:\/\/www.hohnerusa.com\/index.php?6\">the harmonica that I already had<\/a>, and these were inexpensive.  They arrived yester-day.<\/p> <p>Anyway, one of them is an <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100102123939\/http:\/\/www.hohnerusa.com\/upload\/bildpoolcms\/gal00001002kl.jpg\">American Ace Harmonica<\/a>.  Really, they ought to give this thing a different name.  There's nothing peculiarly <em>American<\/em> about its sound or operation; it's just an inexpensive but serviceable diatonic harmonica. (Which is all that I was seeking.) And <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hohnerusa.com\/\">Hohner<\/a> has clearly printed the words <q><span style=\"font-variant: small-caps ;\">made in China<\/span><\/q> on the front label, right under <q>The American Ace Harmonica<\/q>, so the thing isn't even <em>made<\/em> in America.  Calling it <q>American<\/q> doesn't do much beside persuading Canadians not to buy it, eh?<\/p> <p>The other harmonica is a <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20090105223744\/http:\/\/www.kayguitar.com\/products\/khcb.htm\">Kay Chicago Blues Harmonica<\/a>, which I got for no better reason than that it had a clear Lucite comb, and that seemed like it would be cool.  It too proves to be made in China.  Perhaps the Chinese plan to attain a monopoly in the production of inexpensive harmonicas, and then some day <em>pull the rug from under us<\/em>, by suddenly embargoing them.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"I ordered a couple of harmonicas recently.
